Beyond The Story - September 2026

It gives me great pleasure to offer the next therapeutic group at Shekinah (Torquay) on Tuesday 8th September at 18:00 until 19:30 over 12 weeks.
The weekly support is structured to offer therapeutic support around trauma-informed narrative, identity and exploring what defence mechanisms hold you back to living a fuller life.
It is a productive space for the most part. Not to vent but rather be active in a collaborative process to say what the inner critic shouts in the stories we tell ourselves. Or perhaps it could be in difficult form of relationship that needs to be unpacked in a safe and confidential environment. For some, it is important to learn what a session could involve.
Mapping overstimulation - by working through environmental stressors, we can learn how to use coping strategies.
Breaking Patterns - identifying automatic thoughts, the tone of the inner critic and learning about your authentic voice will help us learn about you.
Building a Psychological toolkit - I am a keen advocate in moving the body, nourishing the body, connecting the mind and body and being out in the countryside as my toolkit. It is a privileged position to help clients build theirs.

Finally, if you have any doubts about a closed therapeutic group, then know it is a professional space that supports the individual with an evidenced based practice alongside peer support from others who want to tell their stories. Plus, there is a cuppa and sweet treat available in the break.
